Upcoming Release To Include User Suggestions

Authored by Shawn Stavseth, Director of Marketing

You spoke out; we listened.  The results are in and your suggestions are helping us develop the next release of CLE Mobile. Back in February, we surveyed attorneys who have used the iPhone app and were pleased to learn that:

• 93% of respondents said that it was easy or very easy to download the app
• 81% of survey respondents reported positive/neutral reactions to the program downloading process
• 73% of those who played a program were satisfied or very satisfied overall

While these results are music to our ears here at West LegalEdcenter, survey responses also provided us with important information on how we can improve the CLE Mobile experience – and you’ll see some changes with our next release, which is scheduled for early this Summer. The new release will include the ability to search, purchase and delete programs from the app itself – the enhancements most requested by survey respondents.

User input is the most valuable research tool we have to continue developing CLE Mobile so that it fits your unique learning needs. If you didn’t have a chance to share your thoughts through the survey, I encourage you to write to us on our Reviews page or send an e-mail to CLEmobile@westlegaledcenter.com.

This is certainly the best way to make a product that the community will embrace. Making a tool people need is one thing but making it the way they want it is golden.

The main problem I have with the iPhone app is that it takes too long to sync the discussion posts every time the program is launched which I feel are marginally useful.

Mike, we are going to investigate downloading the posts only in states where it is required for accreditation and then when requested by the user. That should help. Also be sure you have a good connection. I use the speedtest.net app to determine how good my connection is, especially when I’m out and about.

Don’t automatically sync the discussion posts when I log in and I’m connected to the internet. It takes a really, really long time to sync, and I never get on the discussion posts. Thus, it would be preferable to let it be an option to sync to the discussion posts if the user wants access to them.

When is the iPad app going to arrive?

Thanks Sandy for your comments. There are several states which require the availability of the discussion forum for accreditation of programs. We’ll investigate the ability to download posts for only those states where it is required and perhaps download the others when requested by the user.

Good idea Sandy. I’ll pass this on to our tech team.
